Yea, I tried the G-DEC 3 15W. It had a lot of features. Maybe even too many for what I needed/wanted. I didn't have a great deal of time with it, but enough to compare it to the VCXD and the Vox 30VT. Of the three, the VCXD had the fewest features but I think it had the better overall BF tone in both clean and slightly overdriven settings. Also, the VCXD has both a single 12AX7 in the preamp section and 6V6 in the power amp-a true tube/modeling hybrid. The Vox was similar but as you would expect they concentrated more on the AC models. It had one or two "2x12 Tweed" models but it was not as good as Fender's, IMO. Also, the reverb is better sounding on the Fender, albeit it is a modeled effect (as on all of these). It can be set from mild slapback to full-on surf springiness. A drawback with the effects (including reverb) is they cannot be used simultaneously with others to create a chain or patches as can be done on both the G-DEC and VT30. I played around with it only for about and hour after I got it home, and hope to mess around with it a little more this evening after work. As you might expect, I'm not so interested in the high gain models, but there is an acoustic setting (16) that is surprisingly decent. More to come...
Cheers!
