Dusted off my copy of One from Vault the other day, and now I'm curious about the effects Jerry is using in a couple spots.

1.) The beginning of the jam section of Slipknot (starts at 4:02 on the Help/Slip track). Sounds like maybe he's using the octave divider along with the MXR distortion there. Is that right or am I way off?

2.) Sugaree ... Does Jerry have his phaser on for Sugaree? Seems like I detect just a hint of swirly/warbley goodness in there ...

When they start to jam there he is using his MXR dist+ and the Musictronics Octave divider (I think) with his tone knob down in the beginning. He then turns off the Octave divider and runs the MXR with a thick tone to get that horn like sound. That main sound comes from the guitar and the MXR. Try using a Humbucker and turning the tone down almost all the way.

Sugaree- I think he's got a little phase 100 I can hear. I think you are right.
