It's only preseason, but thank God football is back. It's been a long, dark winter.

Let's go Eagles!

Amen, brother, amen.

G-I-A-N-T-S GIANTS!

Giants? And Devils? You must be from North Jersey somewhere. I'm Eagles/Flyers, so I'm a South Jersey man.

It's like two different states. :)

The Chiefs are the only thing left any Kansas City and surrounding cities have left as far as sports go.

So come on Chiefs. Just go to the tournament. I don't care if they're beaten by 40 points. KC/Lawrence/Topeka just need SOMETHING to smile about when it comes to sports.

Did I mention my Devils allegance somewhere.....wow good memory. Actually, and I'll throw a bone to phreaker here......my allegance to the Devils has nothing to do with the fact that I lived a good part of my life in the NE (CT to be exact, though born in NY).

Before being the New Jersey Devils, they were.........

that's right, the Colorado Rockies. Now here's the one most folks don't know. Before being the Colorado Rockies they were...........

The Kansas City Scouts.

I lived Overland Park, Kansas from '69-'75. Saw the Scouts several times.

And phreaker.....although I currently follow the Mets, my heart breaks everytime I check the standings and see where the Royals currently reside. You'll be happy to know, my son's little league Royals brought some glory back to the team last spring, going 13-1-1 and winning the division championship.

jckstraw and ebick, I was just starting to like you guys but the Cheazles and the G-men? Looks like all we need is a Redskin fan for me to hate on. I am sure you will be equally disappointed to hear I am a Dallas fan. You do realize it is all about The Boys this year!! CONGRATS AIKMAN!!

Up untill last year I studied baseball box scores like a grad. student.

I'm unaware of the Scouts though, Bick. I knew KC used to be the A's before they moeved to Oakland. Poor team never even had a winning season. I think their highest winning % was about 460 something. Despite 1980 and 1985, the Kansas City ball club hasnt improved too much from their first year.

Pshaw! The 70's were great years for the Royals. Mayberry, Rojas, Patek, Brett, Otis, Busby, Leonard, Splitorff. The late 70's featured many near misses with heart-breaking loses to the Yankees in the ALCS.

the 70s, well the late 70s, was definitely a time for football. love the steeler domination. now that roethlisberger is good to go, im expecting the team to follow tradition and win 'em back-to-back! Unfortunately baseball has been rather horrible here the last 14years and with the prospect of the penguins going to kc (pittsburgh without hockey is something i dont want to think of) the steelers could be it. thank god for the steelers

its even longer and darker when you hockey team gets knocked out in the first round of the playoffs.

I like playing Fantasy Football, it gives me a reason to watch even more games.

My heart is wih the Lions, but my head knows to watch the broncos.

If the pens leave pgh, KC or Hartford would be their destination. They are up for sale, so it depends on who buys them. I really can't see them leaving though, someone has got to have the sense to keep them here. Hopefully I'm right in thinking that, but who knows these days? Sports teams are always getting moved around.
