I don't know how I overlooked this one... but stumbled across this by chance on YouTube. This is a very cool, spacey Space capped off with a nice "Close Encounters" motif to conclude before transitioning to St. Stephen. I believe the Spielberg film was released in '77 so it must have still been fresh on JGar's mind... considering he was such a film buff. Cool stuff.

Yea, man. I was at that one.. That one is definitely a model late 80's D->S. Most people would head to the Porta-Pots during D->S. But, I was always stuck around for them... ...always tried for FOB/Phil and was usually so dehydrated by 2nd Set, there was no need to leave.

He also does a little "Close Encounters" theme on the "Downhill from Here" Alpine '89 DVD. I'ts my dream to spend a night up on Devil's Tower while jamming to that '78 show.

I'm not sure what key Jerry does it in, but I play it as an open position A chord arrpegio with a little pinky action (Mu-Oct + Mu-III).
Funn as hell!
