I have a question that should be easily answered by the right person or persons, however I can't find this info on the net anywhere.
Which venue was bigger, the Avalon Ballroom, or the Carousel Ballroom?

according to the web, the carousel was bigger. the avalon could hold 400 to 500 people, and the carousel (which later became the fillmore west) held about 1,250.
