We all know it can be tough to pick out Bobby, especially during his Ibanez era.

Here's a great clip - check out the first 60 seconds of El Paso:

Also, check out 5:20 - 5:40 of Scarlet - just sick!

Let's keep the clips coming!

WOW! Weir is really upfront in that mix for the whole show, might have to download that one.

Do you have the soundboard of 5/23/82 (Greek Theater)? Bobby is the loudest instrument in the mix. A must for those interested in the Bobby parts.

+ 1. I was mentioning this to the rythm guitarist in the band this fall. I hadn't listen to those shows in years and randomly grabbed it for the headphone/mp3 player. It's a whole show of BW lessons.

Can anyone point me to any commercially available recordings where Weir is up front in the mix?

I've read Phil's book and noticed the story about Dan Healy turning Bob down in the mix and otherwise screwing with his sound--does anyone know any more about that? Was DH doing that the whole time he was at the boards?

Here's one of my favorites. I think it's one of the best May 77 shows.

If you want to impress someone w/ Weir's playing, have them listen to the right channel during Music Never Stopped!

Also, check out how loud his harmonics are when starting Sugaree. Both Bob & Jerry are incredible on Sugaree.

This is pre-Cowboy: Ibanez Super 80's with a single coil in the middle.

I listened to this show this Morning while i had my coffee, just awesome. I always found myself leaning towards Jerry but i have been enjoying the hell out of these show particularlly because of the Weir man. I always knew he was great but i have a whole new respect. I wish i could play like that.

Here is a Show, from '73 but clear Bobby nonetheless, and a great show. Its Fox theater 12-12-73 and you can hear him crystal, actually the whole mix is prefect. One of my all time for quality of mix. Being from ATL originally, It says the Omni, I am pretty sure the omni wasn't around in 73. They were playing places like the FOX not stadiums in '73. I saw them at the Omni in the 90's. I may be wrong....

anyway here is the link:
