It would seem to me that a boss or any other non true bypass pedal can be converted or "jumped" into true bypass at the switch. True or False? Would such a modification screw up the integrity of the effects signal? I am aware that you can purchase pedal loops that will isolate the pedal into true bypass, but can it be done inside the pedal? Those are the things I think about when I stare into space during dinner and my wife asks,"WTF are you thinking about?"

Yes its true any pedal or effects device can be made to be true bypass using either a switch or a relay. Your signal will still be going through the switch or relay but it will not be going through any semiconductor device that might change the tone. I believe that someone makes a pedal board that does this for you. Jerry's OBEL basically bypasses your whole effects chain with a switch (Thanks Jer).

The way I have seen this done is to remove the switch, drill a hole through the top of the pedal, and install a 3PDT switch. On a Boss, I guess you would want to block the spring somehow as well.
