When using the neck & bridge pups in single coil, which single coil is active?

For the neck pickup, is it the coil on the neck side or bridge side?
For the bridge pickup, is it the coil on the neck side or bridge side?

It's easy to tell - just tap gently on the poles w/ a screwdriver.

Not really...

I installed the Cowboy pups in an Ibanez 2617, but the sound just isn't there. I'm wondering if it's because the wrong coils are active when using the single coil setting - thus the question... It could be the guitar, however, it's very similar to the 2680/2681.

I did install a tri-sound Super 80 in the bridge and it was nice & glassy, but, since I essentially have 'that' sound in my AR500 (and 2619), I'm really looking to replicate the Cowboy/Dimarzio sound which to me is significantly different.
