I don't have either of these things but am finding myself interested in them both. I doubt there is anyone out there that owns both. I've heard what Vic can do with the AxeFX but not sure that I've heard any clips from the Eleven to be able to do a comparison. Can you get that tone...the Mutron sound...the whole package??? It is about half the price...so where does it fall short ...or does it?

The Eleven is a nice unit, nothing wrong with it, I was very impressed with it, but it really is not comparable to the axefx as far as amount of effects and the tweakability of effects.

everything you wanted to know and then some:

Nothing against the original poster, but i think i'm going to dread this thread. They're both good units.
Sorry for the interuption.

I'd sugget reading at thegearpage for answers on this.

Honestly, they have a much larger pool of users of both.

Bottom line most users agree on:
- Both sound very good and accurately model a well mic'd amp
- The 11R covers on the basics very well but stops there
- The Axe covers a much larger range of amps/cabs/fx
- The 11R has amp like UI, very fast learning curve, but very simple
- The Axe has very depth editing abilities to nail your sound but has a much longer learning curve and the UI isn't all that great

I don't find the Axe hard to use at all.
Just experimenting with the parameters and tweaking all the settings is what takes time. I liken that to finding the sweet spot with a tube amp. I don't think anyone here just plugs in their guitar into a Twin and just leaves it at the settings.
I tried some modelers before I chose the Axe. Not the 11r, which I also hear great things about.
One of the reasons I chose it was based on how easy it is to dial in different tones.

Sorry Hogan...just felt like I needed to know. It's a fair chuck of change for either one and the more info I got the better. Keep the posts coming.

Don't apoligize. It's a totally fair question and you're right, but things like this tend to be lightning rods. That's all I was saying.
