Hey All,

On the small chance that anyone out there might hear or see somthing, i had alot of gear stolen during the load out of Arnold's Carnivals last show in Fitchburg on 2/13/10.

I lost the following gear: 1) pedall train board 2) zvex super duper 2in1 3) Qtron (with Gather of the Vibes Terrapin sticker) 4) Maxon OD808 5) Line 6M9 6) Moog Low Pass Filter 7) all high quality cables and WORST OF ALL 8) SMS Classic preamp.

If anybody has any info please contact me.

Peace,
AC

Ouch! Very sorry! Maybe you can ask Brad to put something on his site.

I am guessing that is the piece which may help lead you to your gear back.

BTW - what happened? Maybe advice can save the next person....

Every weekend I watch guys load in and out with car doors open :?
Been guilty myself of doing that til I caught some dude scoping my gear curbside.

Ouch ... that's a bummer, man. I'll keep my eyes open around Boston. Hope you get it back.

This is why I keep my gear insured, it's about $10 annually per $1000 of coverage, and protects everything from drunks smashing stuff at the bars to dumbass roadies leaving the van door open and your tube amp bouncing on the highway to theft like you experienced, or robbery of your home or rehearsal studio-storage space. Piece of mind is well worth it. You may find that your home insurance policy won't cover you if you take the gear out of your house, and if they find out you are using it "professionally" -- i.e., making $50 at a bar with it -- they can stiff you as well unless you have a separate rider.

Oh man that's a hard pill to swallow. I'm sorry to hear about it. I'll keep my eyes peeled for sure - especially that SMS Classic - that'll stand out like a sore thumb! Watch craigslist for the stuff on sale - or pawn shops in the area. Chances are that it's some people local to Fitchburg.

Our keyboardist has his amp stolen a couple of years ago while loading out - sucks.

You can only hope that karma gets the bastards in some way...

If I can help in any way give me a shout

Thanks for the replies, kind words and advice.

Ive been to the local pawn shops and dropped list of stolen items to the music shops just in case they try to unload locally.

Its a tough lesson to re-learn. Been doing this weekend warrior thing for ~10 yrs and have always tried to be aware of my gear and keeping it safe to/from shows. I guess that i got a bit lax with the loading of gear after the show, that WILL NOT happen again. My best assumption at this point is that someone eyed the case in the back of the truck and just picked it up and kept on walking while we were busy loading the B-3 or somthing else. It had to have been quick... The Pedal Train case had everything inside so it was pretty easy score for whomever grabbed it.

Peace,
AC

yah keirweir, "weird" we havent spoken before. I appreciate you keepin an eye out for me. The likelihood is that some person far removed from music, has no idea what they took/have.....i have a hard time believing it was someone who came to see the show but who knows...

Of all the gear that was stolen, it is the SMS Classic that hurts the most as it is the hardest to replace.

We should def hookup sometime and hangout/Jam. Kind folks are not a dime a dozen these days!
