Great show last night at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA! But I digress. Of all of the band's gear, I'm seriously GASing after one, and only one, piece: the Kindle-like e-book thingies Phil and Bob were using.

Heck, if they're not embarrassed over needing help remembering stuff, why should I?!

What's the scoop on 'em?

Uh ... that might be more info. than I needed. :P

Seriously, thanks for the link. That is exactly the device I need. Only concern is, is it compatible with different file types, e.g., my music notes are in WordPerfect (which can save to Word and/or .pdf). Can I hook that thang up to a USB port and download my pdf files onto it? And then afterwords, how do you search quickly for songs for gigs where we don't use or depart from (e.g., in response to an audience request) our regular set lists?

The iPad screen size is 9.7" and it would require some sort of mic stand-like mounting solution.

The MusicPad Pro Plus screen size is 12.1" and the mounting is addressed.

These two factors would support choosing a MusicPad over an iPad.

Brings a very different meaning to "Just gotta poke around"!

Or perhaps it's true to the original intent and we just missed it! :drink:

Just my two cents....

We played an original / couple cover gig on a weeknight at a decent live music spot hoping to impress for a weekend slot. The booking manager said the lead singer can not have a music stand present for the weekend slot, which he did for us. My guess is that Bob has put in the time and cut off enough jean pant legs to be ok to do it, but might be tacky for some of the rest of us. Our singer is great too, one of the stronger points of our band.

The Music Pad Pro seems excessively pricey. I would consider it for $100 or $150 but $900? optional foot pedal? 128mb or memory?

way too much money imho
