Can anybody build me an amplifier that will sound and play like a Voxac30, I am going to purchase a keeley compressor to help sound like Bobby. My friend Counterstriker told me that it would be alot cheaper than the actual thing. I am looking to spend around $600. Thanks!

I'll build you a high quality AC30 clone for $1000. This will include the highest quality cab, speakers and tubes, as well as shipping to anywhere in the lower 48.

I would man but 1000 is to much. i was hoping to get something built for around 650 700 max. Thanks tho!

No problem. That number would barely cover my cost. Parts, labor, testing and shipping. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for.

It sounds like you're on a budget. To get in the ballpark, you need to find an amp that uses a quartet of EL84 power tubes. That's a central part of the AC30, not entirely, but an essential aspect.

Thank you so much Brad, do you have suggestions? My other guitarist in My band uses a Fender twin reverb 100 watts, and i want to try and get something between 30 and 50watts with 2 12 inch speakers, or 4 10 inch speakers.

You might be able to find an H&K Statesman used in your price range (there are two versions, one with 4xEL84 one with 6L6's so be careful there).

BUT! Consider the Carvin Belair. 2x12, 50 watts, 4xEL84, $650 on sale ($699 normally).

The don't really hold their value very well but they DO have an active "mod" community, so if the out of box sound is exactly what you want, someone probably has a tweak that will suit you. Many people seem to buy 'em with the Celestion (+$90) speakers or replace the stock speakers with something else fairly quickly. You might be able to find a used one in the $350 range.

Another possibility is the Laney VC-30 - it comes in 1x12, 2x12 and 2x10 and there are a couple up on eBay right now. If I needed one, I'd buy this one right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-LANEY-VC30-212- ... 53df92deff
