Jason, I knew you would have the info.
Possibly my favorite era of Jerry tone is the era you speak of, I just always assumed it was either the 3 pickup TB, or if it was the 2 pickup version he played it from the neck pickup except for a few rare forays into the bridge. Like when he would turn on the drive pedal for a Dancin' solo before he started using the Mutron. I have a bunch of two pickup guitars and for the most part, they all achieve that same sound from the middle position (whether it is out of phase, or whatever I'm not positive) but they all have the same sound. BB King, MIke Bloomfiled, Dickey Betts, etc. That sound. I just never hear that from Jerry. Is that something to do with the Bean itself, wiring, etc?
Am I making any sense at all? I lost myself at "out of phase".
Paramount Theater from June 3rd, '76 is definitely one of my top 1 shows of all time. I'm listening to Jerry all over and to me it sounds like neck pickup all night. Have I been wrong all this time?

At about the 7:00 mark into Crazy Fingers, Jerry takes the out jam into Wharf Rat, besides being a ridiculous jam, I just love his bell tone there. Neck? Perhaps middle?
I just never hear that twangy vibe from Jerry that comes with that middle position like I hear with BB, Jimmy Page, Bloomfield, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, etc.
