Any brave folks go to Phil at the Starlight in Kansas City? I had to opt out - when the heat index hovers around 110 degrees, I think the only show I would be going to would be the Jerry returns show!

completely un-related, but i had a wicked dream last night that i was jammin with Jerry and some guy that looked like BB King in the blues car of the festival express train. i fell asleep watchin that movie last night. best dream i've had since my wet dream.

just kiddin. i often have dreams im with a large group of dashiki clad hippies in a large park with music playing. i wouldnt be able to tell you what music, because my brain just makes it up. and i have never found out for certain, but im pretty sure its always golden gate park. god, i wish dreams could come true.

but any way. lets not stray too far from the original topic like we tend to do. we cant seem to stay focused on one thing for too long in these forums

lol, why not stray alittle bit off topic? things always seem to come together on this site eventually. well i tottaly wish i saw that show, but im all the way in long island NY and there isnt much going on here... well i did get to to see Hot Tuna a few weeks ago.

but my dream, which will happen as soon as i make enough money to do it, is it just drive around all summer following festivals and meeting people all over the country and jamming with them. of course i'll have to make it to golden gate park, and of course stop by the haight ashbury, and blaze an L on the very stoop where that famouse picture of the dead was taken.... as tribute of course.

If you follow your dreams we'll possible cross paths. in the peak experience of a good show, you want nothing more than to keep that feeling alive. hence traveling with bands/festivals. my dad has been a teacher for 22 years, and when he retires he wants to buy an RV and travel around the country just to see whats out there. he always says hes 50 years old, and he still doesnt know what he wants to do when he grows up. so he fully supports me when I say I'd like to take a summer off just to hit the road with some friends goin from fest to fest

my history teacher is doing that riight now, lol. he's been following pearl jam since school ended, and he said he was gonna stop by a few festivals that cross his path. damn i wish i could have gone with him.

Kids, as a geezer, I just want to say to you DO IT! When I was your age, we had Dead tour three times a year ( which I financed by making and selling rather nice tie dyes, if I do say so myself ), and you guys have the festival circuit. Do it, guys, before life slaps you in the face and you can't just drop everything and go like you used to.

On thattopic, I would highly reccomend to you Nelson's Ledges Quarry Park in northeastern Ohio ( www.nlqp.com ) as an awesomely fun venue for festivals. Encore performance of two nights of DSO over Labor Day weekend, hope to see you there!

man... i wish it was still the 60's and i could just hope in someones VW mini-bus and fulfill my dream... not only to go to festivals and meet new people and have new experiences, but to see america. i've never even left the east cost for god sake. i have such a yearning to see the pacific, as well as to see the rocky mountains, the great lakes, the grand canyon, and the true beauty of america. i'm only 17, but i have already been all over europe, to italy, france, england and spain, nd its gorgeous there man, but from what i've seen so far, america is the most naturally beutiful country in the world. theres more history in europe, and more beurtiful buildings yea, but naturally our country is fascinating. we have so much variety, and within that variety we have so many great sites. we have alaska, hawaii, new mexico, california and so much more.

anyone i really want to just tour the country with a few friends when i get my car, but i doubt my parents would let me do it... ahh whatever happens in my life i'm gonna make sure that goes down.
