I have read conflicting reports about them. It seems like I should have one when I make my rack, and will need some sort of power strip anyway. I have a furman on my PA.

They seem to have a large price range. Do any of you have real world knowledge of using them vs. not using them, or the cheap ones vs. the more pricey ones?

This is similiar to what I have. Mine has the digital reading for line voltage.

I prefer rack mounted conditioners rather than strips. It keeps everything stationary in the rack with no additional hassle.

I would think these are the most inportant features to look for:

- Line voltage monitor reading
- High voltage surge and transient suppressor with an improved RFI/EMI interference filter. (noise from fluorescent lights, electric motors and radio transmitters.)
- Rear master switch features a large power indicator.

And if it has 8+ AC outlets on the back, your in business!!

OK... this is not directly related to Power Conditioners, but after just having read the section in Blair Jackson's Gear Book that mentions Jim Furman, I had to Google this. Very interesting. ...not judging, just interesting.

Yes, a pioneer in switches and transformers...

but for a little more $, the Furman AC line regulator is nice to have, especially if you play in places with old and shabby electrical. It prevents spikes and always maintains a steady supply of 117 volts (on average).
