Is it the mxr phase 100 that Jerry uses for the space jam in the middle of playin in the band?

Depends on which Playin' we are discussing, but every single effect he ever used was probably used for Playin' at one time or another, and often all at once. The phase effects were always an MXR Phase 100, but it didn't come into play until post-hiatus. '71-'74 PITB's will have wah as the only effect.

Sorry that i didnt say what year but in 75ish. He also uses it on candyman sometimes too.

Yep, pretty much every post 76 Candyman right? Very watery, slightly Leslie-ish.

They didn't play any PITB in 75, and he didn't have the Phase in 74- although Weir did:an Orban(?), and a phase on one guitar can often sound like it's affecting both guitars.

There's an oddly placed MXR Phase 90 or 45 in one of the shots of 9/28/75. Sitting on the drum riser by Bill, although Weir's rig is right next to him... I've also seen a shot taken from the crowd that day where BK is openly smoking a bowl onstage...
