Very cool that he is so into Wilco, as I am also.

Not to highjack the thread, but I am curious where this board stands on Wilco. They obviously aren't that similiar to the Dead musically. I'm just wondering what other heads think about them.

Our new project is more along the lines of Wilco and Dave Rawlings Machine, got to feeling like we were in a GD bubble. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun bubble, but the wife and I have decided to make this our main project/outlet and to do the Dead band as more of a side thing. All that aside, yeah it's cool he's into Wilco. And I grew up on stuff like Sonic Youth and Roscoe Halcomb alike... interesting read. Thanks!

That comment really rings true to me.


Wilco is real good. Tweedy is an awesome lyrical song writer. Foxtrot hotel is a great documentary. There’s an older Wilco tune… Kingpin perhaps? Acoustic slide and some wha wha on the keys. Good stuff.

High Peaks is also moving in more of an original direction. The originals definitely have more of Wilco meets Zappa quality to them and not so "Deadish".
The only problem is that one of the band members is so against Wilco that I think the originals written in that vain is starting to wear on him.
Anyone have suggestions for Wilco songs that a head might be able to appreciate more than others. My drummer and I(both Wilco fans) have suggested a bunch of tunes, but he either didn't like them, or just made up his mind he didnt like them so he didn't listen to them.
