Not grovelling, just trying to set up some show trading. You see trading shows is an old way of making new friends and getting to know some new people and new music. Any hermit can sit at home and accumulate massive files but to have a new friend say "here man try this out..." that is nice. I guess I'm just a relic.

jeff, pm sent, and pete went to the site, found the show but it streams like a tape, like you cant skip song to song, you need to fast forward kida like a podcast.. is there anyway to break it into sections of songs, so i dont have to fastforward for 37 min of music before i can get to simple twist of fate if i feel like that or 25 for how sweet it is, etc.

Maybe YOU DON'T SEE... Trading commercial releases is a great way to become a pariah... Pure Jerry releases are commercial releases and JGB commercial releases falls under the GDP trading policy since no one from his estate has stated otherwise... http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=18987

Thanks for trying to educate ME on trading (piracy)...

Here is a BT.etree link for 3/1/80... http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=520636

The criminal part comes in if you reproduce and distribute commercially released material. Now, some bands permit trading of their non-commercially released material, so many people try to make sure that they are only trading non-commercial stuff of bands that are ok with trading. Web site owners appreciate this, because if you were to use a site (such as this one, for example) to promote or perpetuate the theft of commercially released music, they could go after the site owners too, so everyone benefits by staying within the law. That's how it works in a nutshell, these days. That's why the sites mentioned in the other thread that I linked to earlier only allow stuff that's ok to trade.

Torrents can take anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks depending on how many seeders there are... Patience is the key. 24 hours later and I'm at 10%, so that means it should take 10 days to download. It will probably be less than that though.

You started out asking for boards... You ended with asking for someone to rip you the Pure Jerry releases. It just takes one person to fuck up a good thing... Do a google search for astrojams, otherones.net or read up on the archive.org SBD fiasco. Phish stopped Furthernet from hosting shows for a while because people were leaking released shows. It took a couple months to get them to reverse their position. Try finding any of the Bob Dylan tabs on Rukind... They're gone because someone discovered they were being hosted here and this fact got brought to Dylan's management.

I've been trading, streaming, hosting, seeding and sharing for a decade... I've learned the 3 rules to keeping Grateful Dead Productions off your ass:
1) Don't allow or encourage the trading of commercial releases
2) Don't attempt to profit in ANY WAY from hosting content that pertains to trading or sharing non-commercial Grateful Dead shows
3) Don't infringe on ANY TRADEMARK or COPYRIGHT held by GDP or Ice Nine by using their images/marks without express written permission from GDP.

As a website owner, nothing is a bigger buzzkill than receiving a Cease and Desist because of someone else's actions that occcured on your watch. And not everybody has in-house counsel ready to do battle in that event.

I have had them archived locally since 2002, so it never really mattered whether or not they were available online.

I am listening to this show right now. Having some coffee and an RuKind W&B, then off to the slopes.
Jer just kicked on his MuIII for the intro to CFJ.
You can drag the thing-ee at the bottom to any point in the show if you are streaming live.
fwiw, I usually record these streams to mini-disk, then insert "Marks" wherever I want to be able to skip right to.
Then bring the minidisk to the car for the "trip".
Oh shit, that lame keyboard tone just came on. I was at the Kean College show a few nights before.

Playing around with the Sugarmegs site- great fun!

I now can't decide which is the BOAT That's What Love- 2/7/81 or 11/10/81. 11/10 probably has the more over-the-top solo, but the way the final bridge of 2/7 slams out so crisply is just priceless

Now i'm wondering myself... I could have sworn there was a time where certain non-dead tabs were not available... I'm double checking and finding ones that I thought were missing. I stand corrected on that statement, the rest of that message stands, fact checked and documented on the Internet.
