Wow! That was awesome! Seemed like he really didn't get off like that with the Dead after a certain point. I'd seen him in later years with Grisman and with JGB and by comparison his later period with the Dead shined the least (there are certain exceptions, of course).

I was about to ask the exact same thing about the percussionist. There is another video of Jerry playing with Carlos Santana that is from around this same time, I think it might be the same venue too.
