Thanks to Friesman's Ebay Auction, I picked up his Warmoth for a great price!

I just got it today and out of the box I tuned it up, and it played ok. I took all the strings off and loaded some dr's on it and raised the action quite a bit and it plays great! The neck is incredible and the natural sound of the guitar with no amp is stunning and bright!

The electronics are a different story. There is some kind of amp/pot switch that when clicked on, makes a lot of noise! lol. It gives a db boost is all. There is also some kind of giant green capacitor inside and the super 2s are wired as humbuckers. The Single coil sds is in the middle between the super 2s - im going to move the single coil to the neck position and I have a friend that will make me the brass PU plate.

I can;t wait to rewire this thing to Tiger specs. Im starting on it now and I hope to buy waldos buffer by the weekend. Im keeping everything in my Jerrified Ibanez because the ibanez is set up so sweet right now. (even though I considered taking the components out and putting them in the warmoth!) Eventually Ill get this warmoth sounding as good as it plays! I can already tell that with the right electronics, this thing is going to be KILLER! Thanks Friesman!

jedi, that is so frickin' cool!
That guitar is going to be insane! I wish I had the guts (and knowledge) to totally strip and refinish mine. I would go with a natural finish like wolf. Is that what you are doing? These have a very similiar shape to Wolf anyway, yours with the inlay and the finish is going to be awesome.

I really like Tapestry's ibby too!

Yours and Tapestry's are the same in one area where mine is different, you can see it in the pics, do you know what it is?

layers in the sandwich more or less correct. More specifically neck layers. There are 2 more layers in the neck on mine (7 vs. 5). In my opinion it makes not one iota of differnce in tone, stability, or playability. Just an intersting difference/factoid.
The 400's and 500's had 7 neck layers the 200's and 300's had 5.

These are great guitars. In the last 10 years people finally started figuring that out. Back in the late 90's when ebay was first becoming a force, I used to buy mint MC500's on ebay for 300 dollars. If you can even find one now they can go up to 2k!

Yeah I wanted the 7 layers of enlightenment but got stuck with the minimum ...
On a plus side though - if you are doing a complete redo/mod/chop shop special - then a beat up model will do as most collectors only want mint stuff and those are the ones that go for the big bucks.
My git's finish was destroyed so bad Brian the guitar dude - :hail: - felt compelled to sand the heck out of it ......
And now look !
SWEET !
Its gonna have a blonde type stain .... it was a dark finish before ..... ah man look out !
Brian is the man

Here's mine in the chop shop .... with Wolf inlay mock up
Love them Ibanez Gits!
NICE!!! How large did you make the Wolf picture for the mock up? That is something I thought about doing too.
