Remember the other things I mentioned:
- the POD is your preamp
- it has no global eq
- you need to set patches at gig volume

Did ya ever notice how when you turn up the amps your perceived tone changes? This is Fletcher Munson which say you perceive tones (in relation to others) differntly as your volume changes.

Most of us when we turn up we lower our mids.

This works well for a standard amp since it's just got one knob. But if you have a POD you would need to change the setting on every patch you plan on using that night.

Thanks, very interesting.

It's so true, I've tried to run multi-effects processors with my acoustic through a PA because it sounded so great through headphones or low volume. Turn it up and things change. It nice to get an idea of why that is.
