I just got a new recorder and thought I'd try to post a few songs on Archive.org. I'm just a solo act...I have a looper that I play along with. If you guys have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

I like it! Your voice sounds like Matthew Kelly from Kingfish I thought. What kind of recorder did you use?

Matthew Kelly...I haven't heard that before but I definitely appreciate the comparison. The recorder is a Zoom H2. I'm liking it quite a bit. I pulled it out of the box and was making a (what I consider) reasonable recording in about 10 minutes. I used the line in right off my mixer. It's just me and a looper and I record them on the fly. What you hear is what you would get live. Connect it to the computer with a USB and just save the file. It was really easy.

I listened and I thought the recordings sounded pretty nice! I'm not one to talk on this subject but I thought you were singing on key consitently and sounding good. Also thought you made good use of the looper in giving the songs more substance and embellishment.

Question, did you pre-record any of the progressions, specifically the verse progression in Eyes?
It does not repeat so you couldn't have looped it but I thought I still heard two guitars during, one playing that nice riff.

Personally like my guitars a little warmer in tone as well. Jerry had a PHAT tone ja know - just a little more spicy or something.

Good Work Jester

Thanks Buddha,
I do pre-record stuff on the looper. Eyes actually takes about 5 loops. The first verse is a bit different than the last two, so they each need their own loop. So the loops are 1)intro, 2)verse, 3)chorus, 4)2nd & 3rd verse, 5) outro. A foot switch allows me to toggle between the loops.
