so.. i was lookin at ur tour dates and im not sure if u know or care, but im in milwaukee and ive been listening to some of your stuff and see you play a haloween show in chicago. so... big favor/question. im on probation so i gotta get permission to leave the state but im very intersted in hittin up your show and as you know i play lead guitar. i dont really get the chance to jam dead with anyone here and ive never gotten to play a gig and am dying to, and was curious if i made it down for the show if i would possibly be able to sit in for a tune or 2 in place of your lead player? let me know what you think. it would be amazing if that could somhow take place.

Hey Pat! If you ever do come on down let me know! However, as a rule, we don't do mid-show subs with this band.
I can honestly say that none of our core (me, drummer, bass or Jerry guy) has ever not played a song during a show.

Just do what I did...get in a cover band and sneak in Dead tunes. No one else will consider johnny b goode or good lovin to be dead songs, and casey goes over well everywhere

That is exactly what I do. My band plays hard to handle, the harder they come, midnight hour. I just now got them to agree to play mr. charlie. That is the first song I didnt have to "back door" in.

When you introduce new (Dead) songs to your band, just don't tell them they're Grateful Dead tunes.
Some non-deadhead musicians have negative preconceived notions of the Grateful Dead...
