Anyone have thoughts/recommendations on a Bassman head as a guitar amp? Not from the Weir/Dead perspective, but as a guitar amp in general? What's a reasonable price?

Check this link for fender info ..... some of the reviews of the amps have EBAY average price's ....no reverb sinks it for me ...

No reverb = no deal for me on old Fenders.

I bought one last year, it was a 70's silverface Bassman 50 I believe. It sounded fine, 2 channels no reverb, but it was plenty loud. I ended up selling it shortly after I got it because it was more than I needed.

Played a 66 Blackface AB165 in high school. The one with the biggest 2x12 cab ever. Mine too ended up being more than I needed but it was a great amp. Had really decent headroom with the right tubes and I used a Holy Grail along with it. Speaking of it now, I'm starting to miss it.
