does anyone know if i can control the microkorg by guitar using the roland synth gr 20?

i am not 100% familiar with the gr 20 but i would say no. the reason i say that is because the gr 20 does not have any sort of midi out on it (at least according to the specs i read). it obviously (obviously? maybe not) does some sort of audio to midi conversion to trigger its internal synth but it doesn't seem to allow the converted midi to exit. if you have a computer you can use a program like plogue bidule or max/msp to convert the guitar audio to midi then trigger anything with it! i do this all the time, fun stuff. i also like to set up some whacked out situation where the midi coming out is way off from the tones going in. makes for some interesting fun.

thanks, i watched a video of it on youtube, it was the offical roland products one and it confused the hell out of me! i just wanted to check before i spend the money on something like this.

like i said i am not 100% certain but that is my best, slightly educated guess. if you have a friend at the music shop they could likely confirm or deny what i told you. if you find out for certain please let me know.

The Roland GI-20 is the product you would want... it's simple an interface between the GK pickup and whatever midi device it's controlling... like a Roland XV-2020 tone generator.
