Hi everyone. I am new here and have enjoyed reading many of the conversations.

I have done my research and found that The Grateful Dead have yet to release anything from 1984 from the vault. So I decided to make a petition to change this.

So get them shows! Don't let THE MAN stand between you and the music that was given freely to the world.

I have a good portion of those shows on cassette and on my harddrive. I am hoping for a remastered upgrade for some of these shows.

Which '84 show is it that you feel they should release? Imho, '84 might be their roughest overall year, pre-'94, but there are a few gems in the rough, like maybe 6/30 Indy... or the obvious 7/15/84 Greek Th. with the Dark Star. I guess the most likely '84 release would be a compilation of a multi-night runs like the aforementioned Greek, or the Berkeley Community run from Oct-Nov, since none of those individual nights seem quite strong enough (to me)to release as whole shows...

I'd say a Berkeley Comm Theatre from early Nov might be in order.
ah thanks for the correction... the 1st night of the run, that's right- also proving that I hardly ever listen to much from this year!(JGB excluded!) If I was 2-3 years older, it would probably have been the dawn of my touring days, and I would speak fondly... it's often a matter of perspective, attendance-bias ,etc.
