Anyway, just listening to these shows and trying to figure out which night was the night where Barbara met with Jerry during set break, followed by Jer playing a rippin' 2nd set (per Barbaras comments).

Jer takes a Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane-ish Trumpet solo on this Morning Dew starting approx 8:20min (what was that Beatles song with the really high trunpet at the end?...).

I went with a bunch of friends to the Sunday afternoon show. Seems they had just finished up a Cal Expo set of shows prior to this set. Sunday was great. First Set in afternoon, break and then nighttime second set. The highlight for me-that I can remember- was the CC Rider into It Takes a Train to Cry. It really appeared that Weir was just wankin away on CC Rider per usual- finished the verses and was milkin' the rest of the song, when Jerry, bored out of mind playing these blues had a brilliant idea, heard something in his head, looked over at Hornsby- something and eased right into It Takes a Lot to Laugh. And it caught all of us off guard. One of those moments when you felt like maybe this was beyond the usual show and had some "special" in it. Bay Area fans can get spoiled. Anyway a good one. Even though Brent was gone, the band still had some legs then- with Hornsby.
