So, after plenty of pressure from buddies wanting me to play electric (after a year on acoustic), I dusted off my old 1992 Peavey Predator from when I was a kid who wanted to learn guitar.
It's a nice axe- USA made, solid as hell, nice neck, and the white finish is yellowing a bit. But I can't quite hit good high tones- I can get nice mids, both warm and bright, but highs are either thin or piercing. Surely I could do better.
I stumbled on a kit to add some switching options, and I need new pots anyway...

Sounds fun. Ooh, and good ol' cross-promotion of their other products pointed me to these pickups- I could install them and have a guitar so complex it's almost mind-numbing. Hard to imagine needing so many options, but if I'm wiring stuff up, why not go crazy?

I also plan to throw a hardtail bridge on her, which would open up a bit of room for more rediculosity. Maybe an on-board chorus or limiter? I mean, there's probably room for another knob or two on there...

So, just how whacked out of my gourd am I?
Maybe I better go for gold hardware instead of chrome just to make sure folks know it's the souped-up ghetto sled of guitars?
Comments and advice would be appreciated.
