After owning lots of different Ibanez rackmount & stomp flanger pedals, I finally found my holy grail: it's the FL305. Sick, sick, sick! It's bigger than most stomp pedals, however, it's easier than lugging around rackmount gear.

Hard to find, however, someone in Japan has a bunch for sale on eBay, most priced at $400. Look for Ibanez or Maxon FL305. Hard to believe but I found someone selling one literally within walking distance of my house. I pounced on it and got a great deal!

Here's my simple, yet amazing late 70's Weir rig:

Ibanez AR500 with Super 80's (VERY hard to find) -> BBE Boosta Grande -> Ibanez FL305 -> Dean Markley RM150DR. For now, I've stopped using my compressor.

The bridge pup in phase reversal setting is key in getting Weir's sound. However, it's a weak signal, so I use the Boosta Grande to provide lots of clean boost. Nice cheap box!

Also, based on someone's recommendation, I purchased a Gruven amp stand for $47.50. Very nice! http://www.gruven-stands.com/products/?ptag=amp

Your recommendation is why I use phase reversal but my tech suggested throwing the neck and bridge out of phase. Cannot say it's the same sound as yours but nails that kinda phasered sound Bobby would get without using a phaser! But to your point, I need a boost to get it nice. I find that the UE700s EQ is perfect for that especially dropping a few DBs off the top 2 sliders to cut the inherent harsh.

I had been assuming that was Bob's custom foot-sweepable phaser pedal set to a particular position, basically a "fixed-phase".

Boosta Grande is a really great choice for Boost, imo. I've A/B'ed it vs several units that cost up to twice as much, and couldn't call a winner. Clean is clean.

I cut highs with the AR500 EQ/Pre-amp & the amp. So....I guess we're doing the same thing.

He may have done that too! Just saying for my intro to Scarlet nothing nails it like tossing the pup's out of phase and that's it!

Agreed! A super sweet pedal! However, I had no space so went with a Serrano Picoso!
