Hi,

I posted this a while back on the yahoo gearheads group and have worked out a few things but wanted to get some fresh ideas. I am having the Graphtech Ghost system installed in my Tiger Replica. This will give me midi and piezo in addition to triple humbuckers. I am looking for some help on ways to minimize the control footprint.

I am pretty set on the functionality so there may not be any options but I also don't have much experience with different rotary knobs, push/pull POTS etc.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Electronics:
  • 3 DiMarzio Super II humbuckers
  • Full Graphtech Ghost install (acoustiphonic + hexpander)
  • Jerry's Unity Gain Buffer
Outputs:
  • Magnetic pickups: mono or stereo
    • Through Jerry's Unity Gain Buffer when desired
  • Piezo: mono or stereo
  • Midi output (Roland 13 pin)

Controls:

  • Quantity: 1
    • 5-way pickup selector
  • Quantity: 2
    • 2-way mini-toggle
    • 1. Unity Gain Buffer [on/off]
      2. Midi program changes [up/down]
  • Quantity: 5
    • 3-way mini-toggle
      1. Pickup type selection: [hexpander/both/magnetic]
      2. Ghost Hexpander control: [midi/both/piezo]
      3. Three (3) x Humbucker mode (neck, middle, bridge): [hum/canceling dual/single coil]
  • Quantity: 2
    • 250k Push/Pull POT
      1. pushed = Piezo volume, pulled = Piezo tone
      2. pushed = Magnetic volume, pulled = Midi volume
  • Quantity: 1
    • 500k Push/Pull POT
    • 1. Neck+Bridge/Middle tone - pushed = neck+bridge tone, pulled = middle tone

Are you going to use one of the outputs for a loop send/return? Is that what you were referring to as the "stereo" outputs?

Usually the buffer switch is actually a loop bypass switch - is this what you will be doing also?

If you are not doing an onboard effects loop then I'm not really following what a stereo output would actually be used for.

Also - do you have any way to blend the piezo and magnetic pickups together?

Hey thanks for the reply. I will do my best to answer you.

Two physical 1/4" jacks to support the effects loop.
The Ghost system supports stereo out (here is the link to the wiring schematic pdf: http://www.graphtech.com/fckeditor/user ... K-0680.pdf) - via Y cable.

Yes exactly
Also - do you have any way to blend the piezo and magnetic pickups together?
Yes - in fact I should be able to blend piezo/mags and midi - like this:

Pickup type selection 3 way toggle = both ((piezo and/or midi)+mag)
Hexpander control selection 3 way toggle = both (piezo+midi)

Blending will be accomplished through the individual volume controls (midi/piezo/mags)

Does that make sense? Thanks again!

Hey all,

I'm trying to help my friend with his Tiger build. I'm looking everywhere for a dual jack input that will fit a Strat and can't seem to find any at all. Do you guys have a link to a company or individual who makes custom jack plates like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
MM
