FWIW, the show at JPJ arena in cville isn't sold out and the "scalper" sites are selling them for LESS than the ticket price..
i hate to weigh in on economics and politics, and I don't have but 100 shows. if that, but when I can i get em right off the bat online.. when my plans change it's the good ol' 'merican way to buy used..
like I said, I hate to weigh in on "The Big Lie," and all that stuff,so I won't.
I'll talk about what I DO know and that is that by 1994 and 1995 dead shows skeds just bummed me out so much that I was thrilled to see that scene go bye bye.. the rape or sexual assault rate of the girls on the road was OFF the hook.. like 75% or more as I recall. HPV was near 100% and carried by dudes who did not give a crap that it they were carrying it and spreading it ...
Even with "The Dead" we saw girls turning tricks out of their cars on tour for cash in Philly, and I am sure I am not the only one who saw the girls at Jones Beach for "wave that flag tour," holding SIGNS for chrissake that said. "we'll do ANYTHING for tickets."
So i get frosty over that whole sanctity of the tour thing..
but again, FWIW, I bought tix to one show, am debating Rothbury cause i already committed to the best fest around, Gratefulfest, but if my plans for the summer change and or I finally make some money this year
or if I get my hands on some of that dadgummed bailout money, I'd be happy to know that I can go pay whatever it costs me to get tix, and if it's too much, screw it I won't go.
I'm still laughing that I paid 30% less to see Phil and Friends at my local after work theater than I did to see DSO and I didn't feel like either one of them wasn't a bargain ( I have inserted space for TennesseeJedi to correct my style and syntax
)
I seldom rant, but cripes...
