I feel the same way. Ever since DP 36 came out, I've been going back to www.allmusic.com to check up on new releases. allmusic usually posts an album release a couple months before its even out. we need some 06 dead.

I thought I read something about the "operations" of GDP being moved/sold/transferred/etc. to Rhino Records. I believe that's what the hold up is. The "merging of synergies".

Of course, like all good Internet speak, I don't have anything to back that up and I'm too lazy right now to google it. ;)

But it's food for thought.

How many View from the Vault DVDs are out there?
I would like a early 70's show.

I think we all would, theres 4 view from the vault dvds, the buffalo one, the alpine 89 one, the 86 NYE show, dead ahead and then the GD movie and closing of winterland

That's the 12/31/87 NYE, if you are talking about Ticket To New Year (I know you are)

There will always be rumors on GDP.

Think of the Mars Hotel album - Ugly Rumors.

That has been hurtingthe GD for years.

Think of the Archive shit, now no problems.
Think of the Terrapin Station project, still waiting.
Think of the Vault sold to iTunes/Apple, nada.

It's just rumors as we've heard for years.

You can stick a fork in that one, cause Terrapin Station ain't happening ever. Which sucks, because the Cap Centre release was specifically supposed to help pay for it.

What about all the footage from 8/27/72. That's a "best show ever" contender for most dead heads, and GDM promised a release of it as far back as spring 03. Still we have no offical relase of the Field Trip. 72 dark star footage with close up's on jerry's hands. OMG! Great Bird song, china rider, and playin from that show as well. That's the DVD that'll put a smile on everyone's face. Oh yeah a full alpine 89 is a must in my mind too.

There was a PPV b'cast of the 86 NYE at HJK, so it does exist, opens w/Sugar Mag maybe?... I may even have it on VHS somewhere.
