I think I might need to change the big tube in my amp and I'm wondering which one to buy. The sticker in the amp says to use a 6V6GT tube, but the tube its self says both 6V6GT and 6V6EH.

So my question does anyone have this amp and have you had to change the tubes, if so which did you buy?

Thanks.

You can use any kind of 6V6 tube in there, and since there is only one (Class A), you don't have to worry about matching, etc

"GT" stands for Groove Tube (standard Fender equipment) and "EH" stands for Electroharmonix- I'm kind of surprised a tube would have both labels on it, as I was unaware of an affiliation between the two companies (despite the fact that they probably both buy their tubes from the same factories in China or Russia).

Check out this link for some info on 6V6 tubes. They have reviews as well as prices.

You likely have an Electro-Harmonix. There appear to be G, GT, GTA, GTB, GTY and S sub-types.

What makes you think you need to change the tube? Noise?

I am asking cause I just replaced the power tubes on my Classic 30 due to weird noise and the sound is now real sweet! Worth it and probably way over due.

Hope this helps.
