I'm looking at some Vol./Tone knobs to replace some old ones on my guitar. My guitar has solid shaft pots and the knobs are for split shaft will they still work on my guitar?

Thanks.

Shouldn't affect how they work for your guitar. The question is: Will your knobs fit the shafts, or will you be replacing them as well?

That's what I was asking. I know a knob is a knob but fitting the pot is where their different.

You need special knobs for your guitar. They need to be round and have a hole in the middle. Kind of like a donut. But don't eat the knobs. The proper knob is important for asthetic as well as function. The wrong knob on your guitar can really screw things up. If you strum a chord and it comes out backwards you probably have the wrong knobs on your guitar. And don't get the knobs that say 1-11. It's a trick. It's never going to get any louder than 10.

Speaking of backwards, I'm spending entirely too much time on YouTube today. This is just plain trippy....

Knobs meant for a split/knurled shaft aren't going to work very well on a pot with a solid shaft, sorry. But since you already have the knobs, why not try them?
