I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find it in a search... so...

the guit's volume comes after the f/x loop. are the tone pots before or after loop/volume? I know they're in Waldo or Dozin's schematics, but I can't read circuit layouts... and I'd assume they are pre-TRS to f/x out... but wanted to check w/y'all.

Thanks for all your help. I put off the guitaxe mods to build an amp/cab combo I love (and, the luthier I was hoping to work with blew me off... guess I asked too many questions, but it's only less money in his sorry-ass pocket).

But now it is TIME... on to the guitaxe mods!

Fwiw, I've found playing through a better amp/speaker combo that the Ibanez Musician - while I love the way it plays - has horrible single coil sounds. Just reed-thin crap, but there's a nice out of phase sound and bucker on the neck and the bridge out of phase does nail Bobby - just nothing thick enough to drive it all to where I want it, so I need the more powerful pups. Don't know if I'm gonna go w/the DiMarzios or the Bardens yet... the economy is starting to influence the decision....

I actually am back to the Strat because there are no good Strat style sounds on the Musician ( well that and the g string refuses to stay put ).
I want to go with the DiMarzios.
Is the bridge pup the same as the middle pup ? Do I order 2 bridge pups ?
I know the " F" in " F Spaced stands for Fender.
Does anyone know if they will work in an Ibanez Musician ?

If you have the Super 88s you may find it difficult to install after market PUs
The routings for the 88s is larger than most pu rings.
You also may want to try changeing you pots to 250ks
The mc400, 500, 550 use a 150k pot for the drive
and I beleive 20k for the eq controls
Another option is to add an onboard power boost with a trim pot for the single coil selection that way you could fine tune you single coil sound.
Typically the 500k which is the volume pots value allows more of the treble through.
Lastly, it appears the tone controls in the schematic are pre loop.

Tone pot is pre-FX/buffer. Really alters the response from your ECF and lets you find the sweet spot.
