I was looking up Randy Jackson on wikipedia and it said that in the Bay Area he played in bands with Carlos Santana and Jerry Garcia. WTF?!

He never played in the JGB as far as I can tell. Bass duties were always handled by John Kahn.

Jerry played with Randy Jackson, Bob Weir and John Fogerty at the AIDS Benefit, 5-27-1989 Oakland Coliseum Stadium, Oakland, CA

It was during the Fogerty set and Randy was playing bass for Fogerty. There is plenty of video footage of this performance as it was broadcast locally in San Francisco.

Randy had some crazy braided dreads and really rocked out..

Tracy Chapman and The Grateful Dead also played this show.
