So I finally picked up the Pure Jerry Merriweather Post shows from 9-1,2-89 after much trouble with Amazon.com (wrong order sent) and anticipating hearing these killer shows on a Crisp Soundboard after dealing with my mediocre Audience tapes for years and waadya know, the sound boards aren't great quality and manage to suck all life and energy out of the recordings compared to my auds. Disapointed is an understatement. Oh well, at least I still have my auds.

On a side note I've heard people bitch about the sound quality on the Pure Jerry Lunt Fontanne NYC shows...any opinions?

Yes, I've experienced that with a few official releases.. Some are great though!
Usually I prefer a good Aud almost all the time. However a MATRIX is golden!

I agree with the Matrix or quality aud 'tapes'. I miss the energy of the crowd otherwise. Always brings a huge smile when the place goes nuts!! A good example ..." now we are going to prove that practice makes perfect" 3-20-86. Those are the moments, the raw energy and joy that would swirl at a Dead Show
