So, anyone participate in any good local DeadHead jams lately?...

I enjoyed jamming this past Sat afternoon with TigerStrat (on his Alembic Bass) and the drummer from his group, Curtis (a good local Deadhead drummer who I have not had the pleasure of hangin' with much before).

I've been into this "Tribute Trio" format the last year+ or so...
Drummer playing 100% with brushes.
Low volume, high musicality.

Anyway... TS and I have 'been talking about it for a while and finally got it together for a coupla 3 hours.
Funn Stuff!
'Basically started out with me asking the drummer "So how's yer 7/4 hangin'?"

We kicked it in with Lazy Lightnin'.

All in all I think we covered:
Lazy Lightnin' > Supplication
Estimated
Box of Rain
Cumberland
Terrapin (all the way through Terrapin Transit).
Playin' in the Band
Mississippi Halstep
Black Throated Wind
Music Never Stopped

We also touched on Tore Up, Dark Star, and FLaStranger.

That was a fun Jam!
Hope we get to do it again!

You guys could be a Dead " Super Group" !
A recent pipe dream I had was trying to start some kind of local Dead orientated open mic ...

For me anyway getting out and meeting/jamming with new guys has been great for my playing ...
