Anyone else sitting at home on a Friday night? The wife is away this weekend, so I'm sitting on the couch, having some beers, playing the guitar and watching the Sharks whup up on the Oilers.

Ahh, the married life, it's a great thing but what pleasure to sit on the couch on a Friday night drinking beer and strumming away. Unfortunetly I have the pleasure of working a mid shift tonight. Luckily I got about five hours hunched over the guitar earlier.

Wife gets the night out with the girls, I can no longer stand to watch hockey, so I'm drinkin and codin tonight...

Yeah, 'twas not a good playoffs for Detroit (phpbb), Rangers (Bill) nor the Flyers (me).

If Carolina wins the Cup I may shoot myself.

This is helluva hockey game. Oilers just went up 4-3. Nobody gets as excited as Edmonton Oilers fans. They're going bananas.

If carolina GETS to the finals the NHL may start waving the white flag.

I watched the Yanks nip the A's and then switched to the Oilers/Sharks.

Is it just me or are these games a lot more exciting now that they've clamped down (no pun intended) on the clutching and grabbing crap?

Many of these games've got me on the edge of my seat and my team is slurping pina coladas in the bahamas.

Now the wife is thoroughly snoozed out on the couch.

Gotta go. I'm on drool patrol now.

Yeah, games are definitely a lot better now that they've actually started calling all that clutching and grabbing crap. I think that, removing the no-two-line pass and the tag up offsides have made the game really move.

Oilers are up 5-3. That 5th goal by Edmonton was awesome. Jim Hughson is one of the best play-by-play guys in the business.

6-3

Yeah he's very good. What team's his regular gig? I don't believe I've heard of him until this playoff season. Both he and the color guy are right on top of it.

I'm not sure about the colour guy, but Jim Hughson is the regular play-by-play guy for Vancouver (I think the colour guy is as well). I have the NHL package so I watch a lot of hockey games and I always love watching Vancouver games (for Jim and for those wacky Canadian TV commercials :)

Tim Hortons!

I spent the day on the couch with a wicked hang-over i worked up during the Sabres game last night. I had a feeling we would lose, I'm not ignorant enough to think we would actually sweep the Senators, but I was hoping for it.

My boys have really stepped it up all of a sudden, I think Ryan Miller is pissed off about not making the Olympic team.

My life is hard enoug as it is, I don't need this playoff stress. Eveny time we play I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack

Spilly, my wife is the same way with the Rangers. She cracks me up. All season long it's like she can't miss a game. If we go out, the game better be on where we're going.

Then come playoff time, she can hardly watch it. She'll stand out in the hallway and peer into the living room and watch from there if at all as if she were watching a horror flick (which from a Rangers standpoint the Devils series certainly was).

She's so stressed she told me the other day that she can finally enjoy Hockey now that the Rangers, her team mind you, are out!

Don't get me wrong, being married to someone who loves sports as I do is a beautiful thing. But I think I've created a monster.

Go Sabres!

last night me and a group of my buddies went to see Posiedon.

It was pretty much a poorly acted blend of Indiana Jones and the Titanic. It was pretty intense though.

hey Bill, best advice I've ever heard
"don't emotionally invest yourself in a professional sports franchise"

sorry about the rangers, but thanks for your support
My dying little town could really use the economy boost that would follow a cup victory.(especially now that were probably gonna lose our shitty Football team

So here I sit again. The wife is again out for the evening. I have a comfy couch. I have a 6 pack of the Flying Dog, Snake Dog IPA. I have my guitar. Life is pretty good.

I'm also debating on which Dead movie to throw in as "background/playalong":

--Grateful Dead Movie (watched a bazillion times, but I could go through and take screencaps of people for that webpage-identifying-project I've had in mind for awhile)

--Dead Ahead (been awhile since I've seen this, but I might wait until I get the new DVD and watch it then; plus I was never very fond of the second/electric set in this movie so I usually only watch half of it.)

--Closing of Winterland (I dislike this period in Jerry's "look"; I never liked the way he looked during the later 70s, totally weird. He wasn't the fat, jolly looking guy he became and he wasn't the slimmed down hippie he was early on.)
