me reminded of a childhood poem.......

There was a little girl who had a little curl,
right in the middle of her forehead
When she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid!

Couldn't hear herself, plus she was a very popular target for having her drink mega-dosed. She usually sounded great with JGB (especially when Maria was aboard too), and is fantastic nowadays.

I saw Donna singing with Dark Star Orchestra over Thanksgiving 2008 and she was awesome. She looks attractive, sounds great, and connects well with the dead head crowd. She added so much to the Grateful Dead, on select songs, that all in all, I like the 1970 shows that included Donna.

You know... I don't mind the wailing so much cuz she always did it when they were wrapping up a jam. Its usually like jam peaks >Donna shrieks> and the final vocal reprise comes in. I see it like a signal to wrap up the psychedelic voyage - nothing like a throaty yell to bring you back down to Earth though sometimes the return was not so gentle.

I wonder what it would be like if she did some vocal jams like on Dark Side of the Moon with the Dead. That would have been so awesome!

To people who saw Donna with the GD... what was the crowd reaction to her vocals during PITB or any other tune?

The 4-27-77 Fire > Scarlet jam has her scatting a little.

What is PITB?
