"Fuck The Dead" has nothing to do with tickets, and really- who gives a crap if there was more than one ticket discussion??::: MULTIPLE parallel discussions co-exist all over this board, on everything from "Mutron vs Qtron", to "Check This Out!" to "5/8/77: Everything Else Blows Chunks".

An active discussion gets yanked, yet totally useless (and more to the point, long-disused) threads like "Happy Birthday BOB WEIR!!!" and "A stolen collection found!!!" get to stay permanently stickied? How does this work?

Well fuck you too, then. In years of being part of the admin dealing with spam, trolls, etc I make 1 call you disagree and this is the response?

A simple, "hey dude locking the thread was uncalled for" PM woulda had it opened in a second.

I dont have a problem with the locked thread from a lets play nice perspective. Plus it keeps me from saying something stupid - not easy to do !
If "house keeping" is gonna be done I think " fixing/updating the tab " should be the priority.
Much good tab has come and gone on this forum.
Like the Unbroken Chain thread.
Everyone was working on it and some great stuff came out of it ....

Tabs are the work of ebick not the forum mods.

Sometimes I become overly concerned with bullshit threads that this place could turn from a GD board. It happens all over the interweb. Check out phish boards, dead boards, panic boards, etc. They all start out about the music and end up, like they are....

I remembered when I filtered out curse words, I think I changed "fuck" to say something very offensive back. Of course, the first person who fell for it was Kenny, which started the very first fuck you admins thread.

I just want to say that most of you have no idea of the behind the scenes work that people like strumminsix and jck_straw do just because they want to keep this board "clean". I, myself, am amazed when I log in and find out all the spammers that need to be managed at a very regular rate. I RELY on them to help me, as this site is too active for me to do it myself, and, everyone here lets us know immediately when we fuck up. It's almost a lose lose for us as someone will always find a way to be pissed about our decisions.

Certainly this isn't the cleanest board on the net, but I will say it has been able to retain its focus better than most. I personally don't like to see curse words used too frequently (especially in the title), which is what separates these fuck you threads from the other meaningless (non fuck you) threads.

Alright I admit, although at first I (re-)started the thread as some totally tongue-in-cheek stirring of the s#%t-pot as cheap entertainment (and to wake up in the total absence of caffeine this accursed day), I completely spaced the obscenity factor (could have made it "F#%@ the Dead!"... wait as "thread-starter" I can dew that... done.)

However, to fuel my "rant" I did bring up a couple things that have puzzled me about this board: mainly the fact that Stickies are never used to keep alive certain perpetually popular topics on which joining members are constantly re-starting new threads : "What scales did Jerry use?", "Which distortion?" Would it be overkill to break the Equipment thread into sub-catagories? That might make the repeat threads less likely, yes? Like: Instruments, Effects, Pickups, etc...

I like the way everything is laid out now. Just wanted to make a suggestion. I don't really know how much work it takes to keep everything running smooth but I do appreciate the time you put into it.

Shouldn't the whole board should get a say afa restructuring? How about we start with ONE sticky discussion (something like "Perma-Threads: Frequently -Repeated and -Returned-To Topics"), in which people can make suggestions as to establishing a range of frequently-repeated topics as perma-threads. afaict, there seem to be only two stickies right now, and neither seem to be needed: Weir's birthday (last I checked it's only relevant 1 out of 365 days), and the Stolen gear thread (which was a real shot in the dark to begin w/) and appears to have been resolved a long time ago.
