Howdy friends. The Mermen will be at the Great American Music Hall in SF this Sat 12/19. If you are anywhere nearby do yourself a favor and check it out. This is a truly superb band. They have a rep as a surf band, but to call them a surf band is like calling the Dead a blues band, or a country band etc. It's much more than that. Original and very beautiful psychedelic brain food.

I really wish those guys would consider an east coast swing in the future. i've found them through pandora's box and really enjoy their stuff. you're totally right on with your comparisons of their sound and their label as a surf band. have a blast

You may just get your wish. They're about to release a new album, and rumor has it they'll be hittin' the road. Haven't heard anything definite. If you haven't already, check out these shows. Good representation of what they're doing these days.

well you could count on support for shows in the virginia area... that sound still flies well in the beach towns along va and nc.. and they are rebuilding asbury park NJ into a place again worth seeing shows... my 2cents..
when is the new disk due out? so great to see

thanks for posting the links for those shows. i've listened to them both over the last few days and really enjoyed them.
