I dig the suits. "Sultan's" is probably the tune I wish Jer would have covered the most. It just seems like it would fit him well.

You have E.C and ten + minutes of jamming and you dont give him a solo ?????????????
Why not just show his face on the Jumbotron - you would have the same thing.
The outfits are tight.
I'm down with 'em ... 8)

I think Eric's suit wearing goes back to the blues players that he idolized. Can't say about Knopfler, but I did catch Dire Straits live twice and they were excellent shows.

I am amazed by M.K's fluidity - I try to play like he does with his thumb and the way he plucks with his fingers - and its no go.
I love the fancy pants Strat sound he had in the vid .....

His playing really is great. I can't do the fingerpicking thing, either. I suppose if we devoted ourselves to it, we could learn it, but I have a hard enough time with a pick.

I remember driving along on a highway late one night when Sultans of Swing came on the radio. I'd never heard anything like it. I had to go out and buy the record the next day.

Always been a fan of that Pensa strat that Knopfler plays, not to mention been a huge fan of Rudy Pensa's shop in NYC. Rudy is a super guy. Bought numerous goods there when I was living in NYC. If you happen to be in NYC, make sure it is your first (and only) stop on 48th St.

Great video with two great guitarists sharing the same stage. Wonderful song and I think the suits just add to the entire feel of the 80s.
