so I was just at Borders trying to pickup Rocking the Cradle and as I was glancing at the GD section out of the corner of my eye I noticed all the Pure Jerry releases were there as well. They had pretty much all of em, I picked up the 1977 1839 theater release

been listening to this 1839 theater show. I find it interesting that Jerry is playing single coil Wolf in the middle of 1977.

Yeah. I recently picked one up. The Warner Theatre from 78 I believe. Very nice. Fuckin' love Gomorrah and Mission. Palm Sunday was the encore.

Down in Jersey over the weekend, and stopped to pick up Weird NJ at the local Borders on the way home, I was suprised to see all the Jerry albums they had. At least one of every studio release, Legion of Mary, Well Matched (Best Of Jerry & Merl), and every Pure Jerry.

In the end I just bought issues 10,12,13 & 31 of WNJ

I also have Pure Jerry 1 and that Don't Let Go is the BEST. Jerry was REALLY on that night. You can hear it in the music and his voice. He's having a ball.

Ok, I had my hands on the 1839 release at borders yesterday and opted for "WorkingMan's Dead" instead. The only track I've heard from 1839 is the "Tangled Up In Blue" which is simply fantastic. So how does the rest fare? Any critiques?

Incidently, they had 3 copies(1839) but no other pure Jer. I'm wishing I got that instead. The re-release of "workingman's" is cool I was just hoping for killer live versions instead of one's taken from that era '70-'71 that haven't been fleshed out yet.

the 1839 release might be the best JGB stuff Ive ever heard. like i know we talk up these releases a lot but every song on there is truly amazing. you shouldve bought that

"Workingman's" is a good album, but if you wanted to be blown away than you should have bought the 1839 release.
