I thought I would just whip up a setlist, but I'm rather embarrassed to admit that I spent about 30 minutes on this. And I could probably spend a couple hours on it (but I don't "play" fantasy sports, so I guess I'm alright ;)

not to pick on you guys, really (or anyone's fantasy) but...I gotta comment!

cv, yours was supposed to be "realistic" but, other than "Jack Straw" and "Black-Throated" early in the first set, Jerry sings every song in your whole show!!

js, looks groovy... MLB in the middle of China>Rider?!?!? very imaginative... it's hard for me to picture the transition jam winding down to the quiet sensitive environment you would need to "grow" a MLB.

Not that imaginative, fortunately. The China>MLB>Rider I had in mind was from Dick's Picks 12 (6-26/28-74). Awesome.

 #5090  by tigerstrat

oh that ... I've heard those 72-74 C>R transitions jams referred to as a "Feelin' roovy jam" (which I don't agree with) or as an "Uncle John's jam" (closer, but no cigar), but never as a Mind Left Body.

 #5091  by jck_strw

Not to thread-jack here (but I will :)

Whatever you want to call those 72-74 China>Rider jams, they were fucking awesome.

tiger-So what are/were you thinking of for a MLB jam?

 #5095  by tigerstrat

actually there's one in 6/28/74 (out of Let It Grow, and into Jam> U.S. Blues), the very next show after the 6/26/74 China>Rider you mentioned.

They are both descending phrases, but very different. The main phrase of the MLB melody descends a major 3rd, while the "FG" or "UJB" or "Uncle Groovy" melody descends a perfect 4th.

E2:Attics of my life.

if the Dead were ever that wacked out to play a stellar set like that. i think i would die, just from the fact they played a combination of all those songs in one show.

each song would be at least 15 minutes long. even attics.

i basically just laid down all my fav songs in no particular order.

but THAT is one helluva set list. no?

THAT is a dream setlist
