It isn't the artwork that does it to me, but the thinking.

VW ran full page ads with that sketch in almost every major periodical and newspaper right after Jerry died. I thought it was pretty admirable of them given that they are a major corproration, etc.

To Lay Me Down, acoustic, DVD from Radio City, is the one that gets me every time.

Hey that Vdub pic reminds me of one I wanted to do back in my screen-printing days (but never did).
It's an image of a VW bus being towed away, inside are two skeletons smoking a J, with musical notes suggesting that they are listening to the Dead.
The caption at the bottom reads...
"The Music Never Stopped".

Bobby's intro before hitting "Bombs Away" - 8/9/95 gets me every time. :(

Maxell also ran adds in 95 mostly in the Garcia tribute magazines (dupree's diamond news, and I think one of the mainstream media tribute issues) anyway it showed a photo of a XLII tape of the last night in Chicago in '95. Now that kind of market awareness blew me away! I like everybody else used XLII's exclusively and the tape jacket was even filled out like the way I used to do it. It was really cool to see that they were aware of the community of deadheads using their produce. If
anybody has a copy of that add I'd love to see it again post or send me a pm.

thanks

Capt, those adds were run in People Magazine and a few others if I recall. I saved the NY newpapers from 8/9/95 along with assorted magazines that covered Jer's passing including People and other mainstream media rags, assorted newpaper articles that came out later, Jer tribute mags including one from the photograhpy magazine Photo, and some other assorted stuff. It's all in a box that gets pulled out once a year in August for a few weeks.
