Hey, I've been more than a little thin skinned now and then myself, so don't give it another thought.

IMHO, Yes (on a good night) is one of the only remaining great live music experiences.

Well, I can see where people raised in the States, like ourselves, and primarily used to American music styles "informing" our sensibilities, might feel that "art - rock" bands like Yes or old Genesis, ELP, King Crimson, etc, have no soul.

However, I would suggest that it is just a different type of soul that they exhibit. People raised in Europe have a wealth of musical history to draw from that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with blues music; in fact, it pre-dates blues by several centuries.

So, bands like Yes, and other art rockers, draw much of their inspiration from these sources, as well as nods to American stylings, like blues and jazz. I mean, Bach can sound very clinical and precise, but he certainly had tons and tons of soul, you know?

I will add here though, slightly off-topic, but I've been considering changing my name on here...not exactly dead realted. It's just the one that I used for everything at one point. Because lets face it, ELP rocks!

I saw Yes back in 73 or 74 at Winterland 2 nights in a row and it is still one of the most musical hightlights of my entire life....Unreal...not the Dead ...but live it is/will be incredible...I am a firm believer that live music performed by competent musicians always has the possibility to take you to "that" place....god forbid I have even enjojed country music in a live setting.....

Wonderful group. I've caught them live each decade since the early '70s. As much as I love and play 'em, not everything in life is the blues. Yes are to classical music like the Dead is to folk which is to say, each band also has many other influences but deep inside, the roots of each run deep. Catch 'em live and enjoy the show.

P.S. Yes without Anderson is in some ways like the Patriots without Brady. Certainly, it will impact their performance but it will still be Yes that's on the stage.
