what about music never stopped? I mean, it would have some meaning to it right?

I could definitely see the New Speedway Boogie opening the show, but either way they will be throwing down!

Do you think they will make a good bit of appearances on the East Coast (or southeast!!!!) Both Phil and Bobby play in Atlanta at least once or twice a year, I suppose I can dream :peas:

While obviously not an opener, I think Throwing Stones is gonna be unavoidable for the first show. Bobby has it in fairly heavy play with Ratdog lately, and lately the stones have been flying between the political camps.

Here's a few stones of my own: John McCain admittedly can't use computers. Sarah Palin does not think rape victims should be allowed to have abortions, and supports the ever effective abstinence-only sex ed.

That said Shakedown, TMNS, Bertha (Good one about the lipstick pappy :-) ), GSET, would all be great way to start. Beatles covers are always welcome too

How about, "BELIEVE IT OR NOT" - haha!! Just listened to the studio version on the way here....the one from SMR that is sans Jerry guitar solo. Still...nice vox, great song.

After that interview last night, I'd say maybe even "It's All Over Now," to paraphrase Peggy Noonan!!!

or how bout a sarcastic "Women are Smarter"

maybe not to open, but it would be funny if they featured it in the show, maybe even with a new verse???

Hate? Hate is a strong accusation that is thrown around way too easily. What I don't like is when people devalue the diversity of opinions that we hold. Deadheads are as different as each falling snowflake, and to assume that all deadheads are disliking or supporting the same candidates is foolish and insulting to all of us.

Most of the time I keep my mouth shut about politics, but every so often people need reminding that one man's savior is another man's satan. I voted Libertarian for president last time around and may well do that again. Anyone who thinks that the D's or the R's are our friends is a few slices short of a loaf.

Sorry. Rant over. Party on.

I never realized the Libertarians cornered the market on integrity.
See this is why politics are a no no here - people like me.
Truly I am wise.

Heh. It's cool, man. Been a tough week. The L's have almost no chance of winning anywhere, so they don't end up getting rich and that keeps most of the crooks out. As to the two major parties, both sets of candidates are basically decent, honorable people, but with real differences in what they would do, and I think there is a difference between their personal beliefs and the policies they would institute.

I want the people in there who will most closely follow the limits imposed on government by the Constitution. I think it best to view all candidates through that prism.
