Space, get the hollowbody man, you wont regret it. Plus humbuckers are fun to play on if you haven't yet. Always good to experiment.

I miss her. She's coming home on Friday from my tech. 9 days!!! She's having a SD Custom5 ectomy from her bridge and a brand new Pearly Gates installed! w00t! Now she'll have PGs front and rear! YA!!

Since January of 2004, I think. Bought her the day of a show after I couldn't get properly intonation on my POS Ibanez AXS32.

I checked her out previously while browsing GC looking for a light guitar to replace my Epi LP which was breaking my back. The guy showed me a few and one was the IB AXS32 (<500>$1,000). Well being on a budget I opted for the cheaper, and got what I paid for. But all during that time I still lusted after the Jackson.

Then just before my 30th, prep'ing for a gig, unable to the Ibanez setup properly, regretting my choice, I said "aw fuck it" and called up the guitar dude I know there, asked it he had it and to give it a one over for a gig that night. He checked it out, said the strings had minimal usage and the intonation was on so I picked it up, played on it for 30 minutes at home, fell in love with her and drove to the gig!

Here is what the Ibanez looked like. Still a cool looking guitar, IMO...

I dunno Space, remind me, do you have other guitars than the two mentioned?
If something, god forbid, happened to your strat, you would probably be better off gig wise with the tele.
We all can't go out and buy a guitar, even a cheap one, so a trade is attractive alternative. Do you know the guy well enough to still see him years down the road in case you mutually decide to trade back?

No i dont know him well. And my Tele is my backing guitar, but I was going to make the 335 my backing guitar. Is that a bad idea? I was planing on getting a mexi strat and tricking it out when I get the money for my back up guitar. But I have wanted a semi-hollow for a while now, and this is convienant.

Seems to me that it would be cool to have both sounds, but if you use the Epi as a backup for the Strat, you gotta know the sound is going to be very different.

Sometimes mistakes are made, but sounds like you fixed yours pretty quickly!

WI - I've never had much luck with anything Ibanez, per say.
I had that one, a semihollow, UE400, pedals, etc....
All of it was kinda "mehhh" to my ears...
However, they have some very nice higher end stuff, IMO.

That said, I'd cautiously consider something Ibanez IF I
planned on throwing down some $$$ for their higher end shit.

I think I made the best purchase I could at the time on my guitar, and I haven't had too many mechanical issues with it yet (only cosmetic ) I think other than a few bad eggs, the Artcore line has held up pretty well. I like the look of your old guitar though

HATED the Artcore hollow. It was part of their thinline and it was soooo neck heavy my fret arm was actually tired from keeping the headstock from slamming downward.

I definitely hear you on it being too heavy, that should be fixed for such a thin guitar. there's definitely some things I would love to fix, but I would rather save my money for a new guitar.

Which guitar? The AXS32? about 6 months. The TL Artcore, days.

that's all it took! i bought it online so i didn't have much time to think and return. and, of course, no time to pretest.
