Sat the 16th, I walked my little sister down the isle in San Diego at her wedding. For the reception she hired your normal run of the mill wedding dj, who did fine. After the dj, she hired San Diego GD cover band Electric Wasteband to play for the final 3 hours of the reception. Not only did they sound wonderful, they were easy to talk to during set break and after they were done. I'm sure they could have taken an approach like....'playing a stupid wedding'.....but they didn't. They were professional to the end, laughing and joking between songs. I believe my sister and her husband submitted about 40 songs they wanted to hear by the band, they were very cool, not just looking for a paycheck. The drummer was so into it, he opened a bloody gash on a finger smashing it into one of his cymbals! The spirit of the music was alive and I was loving it. I'm in Iowa, it had been a while since I heard any GD tunes live. After their first song, That's What Love Will Make You Do, I yelled for a Peggy-O, they played it and I got to dance with my sister, who was happy. Their China - Rider, Help-Franklins were dead on. Kudos to the Electric Wasteband.
When me and the wife got hitched we went with some Jazz is Dead - ya know for the old folks.
